Job summary

Doctors Medical Center of Modesto, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Utilization Review in Behavioral Health to ensure appropriate level of care and coordination with the care team.

The role is per diem, with day shifts, reporting to the Director of Case Management. Responsibilities include authorizations, treatment plan review, and reimbursement communication within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• One or more year's recent acute hospital experience.
• One year acute inpatient psychiatric or chemical dependency experience.
• Good communication, documentation and organizational skills.
• Self motivated and able to function with a minimum of supervision.
• Demonstrates personal maturity, independent judgment and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Utilization Review activities to obtain authorizations for inpatient hospitalizations.
• Act as a liaison between MDs, the Treatment Team and External Review Organizations.
• Review Treatment Plans and monitor delivery of care to achieve desired outcomes.
• Communicate reimbursement issues, trends and patterns to the Director of Case Management and Administrator.
