Position Summary:

As a member of the Training Department, the Training and Development Specialist is responsible for developing and leading comprehensive training initiatives that strengthen the knowledge, skills, and performance of clinical and administrative staff. This position partners with operational, clinical, and human resources leadership to ensure employees receive high-quality onboarding, ongoing education, compliance training, and professional development while promoting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client care.

Core Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate ongoing training programs to ensure staff competency and professional growth (e.g. conflict resolution, leadership, communication, and performance improvement).
  • Develop training programs for administrative staff related to customer service and operational workflows.
  • Monitor adherence to established workflows and provide coaching when improvements are needed.
  • Partner with HR in developing performance improvement resources and coaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure evidence-based practices and quality standards are incorporated into training with a focus on client care.
  • Conduct documentation reviews and identify trends requiring additional education.
  • Support implementation of new clinical initiatives, workflows, and technology.
  • Create and provide onsite targeted trainings/booster trainings on clinical topics as requested.
  • Attend meetings, as requested, with the Quality Assurance team, Training Department and Directors to collaborate to ensure cohesive Documentation Trainings.
  • Coordinate with sites and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health “DMH” Training Coordinators to facilitate staff attendance at trainings
  • Analyze quality assurance findings to identify knowledge gaps and implement corrective training.
  • Coordinate annual and semi-annual trainings and ensure completion of required certifications.
  • Maintain up to date training priority spreadsheets in the specified company drive.
  • Ensure timely capture of training opportunities for staff and ensure staff training substitution as needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate in a timely and proactive manner with internal and external trainers, training coordinators, and Enki Management.
  • Assist with other Training Department administrative functions as needed.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Provide Clinical Supervision as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Master's degree or above in a related field (i.e. social work, psychology or sociology).
  • Experience providing mental health services in a Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health environment preferred.
  • Prior clinical training experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Licensed MFT, LCSW, LPCC, Ph.D., or Psy.D. preferred.
  • Ability to meet the requirements to provide clinical supervision to ASW, APCC, AMFT and Ph.D. or Psy.D. preferred.
  • Knowledge of Evidence Based Practices such as TF-CBT, PCIT, ICBT, IPT.
  • Valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and eligibility to drive for the Company preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform in a positive, courteous, flexible and adaptive manner.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, and work proactively.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently to meet the needs of the department.
  • Must demonstrate competency in basic verbal skills, including reading comprehension, grammar, attention to detail, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Computer literate and experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Outlook.
  • Experience using an electronic medical health record is a plus.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • See well enough (with or without corrected vision) to read fine print, hand-written materials, and a computer screen.
  • Speak and hear well enough (with or without assistive device) to converse in person and by telephone.
  • Finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms, including ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Have the mobility (with or without assistive device) to stand, sit, crouch, and move from one work area to another.
  • Have the strength to lift, carry or push office equipment and supplies used in normal job functions up to 20 lbs.
  • Stamina to effectively perform work activities.
