Job summary

Mercy Behavioral Health Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, seeks a licensed therapist to provide psychotherapy and counseling for patients with psychiatric and substance use issues. You will ensure accurate and timely documentation and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and utilization review to support treatment planning.

Applicants should have a Master’s in social work or counseling or relevant licensure and prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required.
• Experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
• Displays active involvement in treatment planning process.
• Provides family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
• Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources. Demonstrates proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment.
• Works well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members. Demonstrates active communication with team members.
