Job summary

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, Inc. (CHC/SEK) is seeking a licensed mental health clinician to join the behavioral health clinical team.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in Kansas.
• Graduate of an accredited college/university.
• Completion of one-year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• No sanctions by the Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB).

Responsibilities

• Observes patient in play or other situations and interprets tests to diagnose disorders and plan treatment.

• Makes appropriate referrals to internal/external resources for additional services.
• Provides clinical consultation to other providers within CHC/SEK.
• Ensures accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation.
• Maintains clear written and oral communication to patients/guardians and employees.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position is part of the behavioral health clinical team. This position diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals, and administers programs of treatment. This position participates in performance improvement activities.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments.
2. Performs psychological testing and evaluations.
3. Selects approach to use in individual therapy, plan frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
4. Observes patient in play or other situations, and selects, administrators, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders, and formulate plan of treatment.
5. Collaborates, as needed, with Psychiatrist and other specialists in developing treatment plans for patients.
6. Responsible to make appropriate referrals to internal disciplines of CHC/SEK and/or external resources/agencies for additional services required.
7. Provides clinical consultation to other providers within CHC/SEK as needed.
8. Responsible for accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation.
9. Provides clear written and oral communication to patients/guardians, and employees
10. Participates in clinical supervision as requested.
