Axis Health System is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for our Regional Crisis Center in Montrose, CO. The role involves supporting clients in a 24-hour residential setting and helping implement individual care plans, with potential work at other sites as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma and may have a bachelor’s degree with experience in 12 Step recovery, medical and mental health fields.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide supportive services and monitor and direct compliance with rules, guidelines, and directives for clients within a 24-hour residential care unit. Participates as a member of the service delivery team to assist with the individual care plans for program clients in accordance with policies, rules, regulations, and directives that apply. May also be asked to provide similar services in other locations as needed.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate for our Behavioral Health Technician position will have a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree and experience in the 12 Step recovery, medical and mental health fields are preferred.

Continued employment in position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of various required trainings and inoculations sequences including but not limited to the following: Hepatitis, Infectious Disease.

Salary

Starting pay is $18.50 (Based pay $17.50 + $1.00 Locale Differential = $18.50) and ranges up to $21.10 per hour which includes a $1.00 locale differential at our Montrose worksites and considers preferred experience and preferred education described.

Physical Demands

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills

• Need to possess good communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback to other staff.
• Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Internet Access.
• Ability to follow established universal precautions and report potential exposure to a communicable disease immediately.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hhectic environment with frequent interruptions.
• Must have current driver’s license and ability to be commercially insured and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System commercial insurance agency.
• Occasional travel required.
• Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.
