Job summary

Centerstone is a nonprofit behavioral health system providing care across the United States. This part-time weekend role supports daily living activities, supervises clients, and assists in transporting as needed from hospitals or courts.

Minimal requirements include a high school diploma and at least some mental health experience; BLS/CNA/CPR is preferred. The job offers a range of benefits and requires a Florida driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year experience in mental health/addictions facility preferred.
  • BLS, CNA, CPR certification, or Crisis Training preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with a safe driving record and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Vital Signs (BP, Resp, Temp).
  • Perform Urine Drug screens and report results to nursing.
  • Assist in activities of daily living and supervision.
  • Assist in providing for/supervising clients’ nutritional needs.
  • Provide social interaction opportunities for clients.
  • Assist in training newly hired Behavioral Technicians.
  • Complete 15 minute safety checks.
  • Inventory and document patient belongings including contraband and monetary items.
  • Mediates agitated clients using TEAM Verbal techniques.
  • Responds to emergency codes using TEAM Physical/Verbal techniques.

Hours

Part-Time - Weekends 7am to 7pm

Summary of Position

Provides assistance, supervision and coordination of therapeutic activities relating to daily living skills of clients. May have to transport clients from other hospitals, court, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Able to obtain Vital Signs, (BP, Resp, Temp).
  • Able to perform Urine Drug screens and report results to nursing.
  • Provides assistance and supervision to clients in their activities of daily living.
  • Assists in providing for and supervising clients’ special nutritional needs.
  • Provides social interaction opportunities for clients.
  • Assists in training newly hired Behavioral Technicians.
  • Completes 15 minute safety checks.
  • Inventories and documents patient belongings including contraband and monetary items.
  • Mediates agitated clients using approved Team Verbal techniques.
  • Responds to emergency codes Dr. Show and Dr. Armstrong using TEAM Physical/Verbal techniques.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Basic computer skills – MS Outlook, Data entry, word processing, and documentation of vital signs and shift notes via spreadsheet.
Qualifications
  • Education Level: High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Years of Experience: One year experience in mental health/addictions facility preferred.
  • Certification/Licensure: BLS certification, CNA Certification, or CPR certification or Crisis Training preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with a safe driving record and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements
