Job summary

Nash Hospitals, part of the Nash UNC Health Care system, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Assistant I to join our care team in Rocky Mount, NC. Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant I course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current listing with the NC Division of Health & Human Service Regulation Health Care Personnel.
• Current NC Driver's License and meets insurance requirements to drive hospital-owned vehicles.
• Current BCLS certification.
• CPI certification required within 90-days of starting to the unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
• In the psychiatric setting, aid patients in reality orientation and participate in behavior modification plans/therapy.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments outlined in the plan of care including vital signs, measurements, wound care, and activities of daily living.
• Provide direct personal care for activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.
• Perform indirect care such as cleaning, stocking, and clerical tasks, and support orientation of new staff.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials as requested.
