Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Wasilla, AK team on-site. This full-time role supports residents through structured daily programming, monitors safety, and coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining trauma-informed, recovery-focused care.

The schedule offers Alaska-friendly shifts (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm), and the role emphasizes direct patient engagement and compassionate support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
• Preferred: work experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of structured daily programming and group coordination.
• Build consistent, trust-based relationships with patients to reinforce engagement and progress.
• Monitor patients and the facility environment and conduct regular safety checks.
• Communicate patient observations and needs to clinical and medical staff.
• Ensure adherence to program structure and facility rules.
• Document observations, safety checks, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Transport patients to and from the program and community appointments.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Conduct UDS and breathalyzer testing in accordance with company policy.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout the program day.
• Recognize signs of clinical concern and refer appropriately to therapy or medical staff.
• Keep Team Leaders and the Supervisor/Operations Director informed of relevant patient information.
• Assist with supply management, discharge preparations, and day-to-day facility operations.
