Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Technician to join our Behavioral Health Unit at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT. This full-time, day-shift role focuses on engaging patients in recovery-oriented activities, communicating needs to the clinical team, and supporting patient safety.

You will perform observations, document vital signs, assist with ADLs, respond to emergencies, and provide individual and group interventions to help

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience: Broad practical understanding and ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.
• Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
• Observes patient behavior.
• Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
• Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
• Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.
