Job summary

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate in Psychology or related field or CNA license with behavioral health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Crisis management certification or current enrollment in Brown University Health program.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning with the Professional Nurse to develop initial problem list and treatment plan.
• Communicates treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
• Implements treatment plan per unit policies and maintains therapeutic limits.
• Documents significant patient/family interactions in flowsheets.
• Observes patients in activities of daily living as per plan.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships and encourages patient participation in activities and groups.
• Conducts patient rounds and reports any unusual behavior to nursing staff.
• Manages aggression with timely therapeutic interventions.
• Assists in placing patients in seclusion or restraints per policy.
