Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor clients by conducting safety checks.
• Log and report detox withdrawal symptoms and changes.
• Record vital signs and medication observations in EHR.
• Educate clients on medication, substance abuse, healthy lifestyle, and sleep routines.
• Assist with medication administration and report errors.
• Complete medication counts and assist with destruction as needed.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules and complete incident reports.

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled BHT to join our team at New Dawn Treatment Center in Reno, NV. This role is vital in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our mission of clinical excellence. As a BHT, you will play an essential role in enhancing the lives of our clients through dedicated nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitors clients by conducting safety checks.
• Monitors, logs and reports on client detox withdrawal symptoms and/or significant changes.
• Monitors and records client vital signs.
• Charts medication observations, shift notes and DAPs in EHR.
• Provides clients with education on medication, substance abuse education, healthy lifestyle, and sleep routines.
• Conducts medication pass by the observation of client self-administration of medication.
• Reports medication errors.
• Completes medication count each shift.
• Assistswith medication destruction.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules.
• Completes incident reports as needed.
• Transportsclients and pick up medication as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GEDrequired.
• Current and valid NevadaSAPTA medical certification and detox certification required.
• Ccompletionofstate requiredsix-hourtraining (withdrawalsymptoms, client confidentiality, infectious and communicable diseases, measuring andmonitoringvitalsigns,andethicalpractices)required.
• Experience working with clients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on substance use disorder or mental health treatment preferred.
• Must have andmaintain a valid Nevada driver's license, clean driving record, andmaintain personal auto insurance coverage.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications arerequired.
• Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
