Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Missouri is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I to work in Salem, Missouri. In this full-time role you will provide direct, and supportive care, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment and supporting clients on their recovery journey.

You will monitor health, assist with daily activities, document observations, and collaborate with the treatment team to identify needs and strengths. A high school diploma and two years of responsible employment are required.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent and two years of responsible employment.
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • For Residential Care Facility (RCF) positions: Level 1 Med Aid credential (LIMA) and insulin certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond to critical symptoms, escalating to medical intervention when necessary.
  • Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled and assigned.
  • Document and report any exceptional behavior and areas of concern related to client interactions.
  • Assist clients with personal care and daily activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client medications and monitor self-administration of medications.
  • Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive social interaction and role-modeling solutions.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team, helping to identify client strengths and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients.

Education, Experience, and Credential Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment.
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • For Residential Care Facility (RCF) positions: Become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be insulin certified within the first ninety (90) days.
Additional Qualifications
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age to operate a company‑owned vehicle.
  • Must be at least twenty‑three (23) years of age to operate a company‑owned fifteen (15) passenger van.
Physical Requirements
  • ADA Consideration – Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
