Job summary

Advanced Recovery Systems, LLC is seeking compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support patients in addiction and mental health treatment. You will work with the care team to provide safe, dignity-centered support and help create a recovery-focused environment.

You will engage with patients throughout the day, observe changes, assist with daily activities and coordinate with nursing, clinical, and case-management teams to reinforce individualized treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in behavioral health preferred.
• 3+ years in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Direct support experience with patients preferred.
• Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
• Valid driving record per policy.
• CBHT, MHTC, or trauma-informed training preferred—or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication, observation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to dignity, respect, and empathy for patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient safety checks, room checks, and shift hand-offs to help maintain a safe and supportive environment
• Support admissions by assisting with belongings searches, documentation, orientation, and welcoming new patients to the facility
• Build positive relationships with patients while supporting meals, groups, recreational activities, and community interactions
• Assist nursing staff with vitals, breathalyzers, urine drug screens, pulse oximetry, and other competency-based procedures
• Observe and communicate changes in patient behavior, mood, or safety concerns to the treatment team
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques when needed
• Follow infection-control, hand-hygiene, and biohazard-safety practices
• Partner with nursing, clinical, and case-management teams to reinforce individualized treatment goals and care plans
• Model professionalism, healthy boundaries, compassion, and recovery-focused behaviors
• Perform other duties as assigned

We're looking for compassionate, dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) who want to be part of that journey. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework or a degree in behavioral health or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, healthcare, human services, or a related field preferred
• Previous experience providing direct support or service to clients, patients, or customers strongly preferred
• Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
• Good driving record that meets company safety and insurance requirements
• QMAP, CNA, MA, Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Mental Health Technician Certification (MHTC), or trauma-informed care training/certification preferred—or willingness to obtain applicable credentials
• Strong communication, observation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations
• Commitment to treating every patient with dignity, respect, and empathy
