The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting the mental health and well-being of patients by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position is essential in implementing individualized treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and managing crisis situations to ensure patient safety and progress. The technician will maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards. They will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute discharge plans that promote successful patient transitions. The Behavioral Health Technician utilizes clinical documentation skills daily to ensure accurate recording of patient interactions, treatment progress, and incidents, which supports continuity of care and regulatory compliance. Crisis management and intervention skills are critical for responding promptly and effectively to behavioral emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety. Clinical assessment abilities enable the technician to observe and report changes in patient status, contributing valuable information for treatment planning. Knowledge of mental health conditions, including Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED), guides the technician in delivering appropriate patient care and support. Maintaining thorough documentation and collaborating with healthcare teams are essential skills that facilitate coordinated care and successful patient outcomes.
