Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Starr Regional Medical Center-Etowah Campus in Etowah, TN is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician on a PRN basis. The role supports nursing staff and delivers compassionate patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs support, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Certification requirements include BLS and HWC within 45 days; CNA preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• BLS certification required within 45 days of hire.
• Handle with Care (HWC) required within 45 days of hire.
• CNA certification preferred.

• Provide direct patient care including bathing, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, specimen collection, and routine observations; report changes promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Support patient mobility and safety using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Document care provided in accordance with department standards.

About us

Starr Regional Medical Center- Etowah Campus is a home to an emergency department, outpatient services, an 88-bed skilled and long-term care nursing home, a senior care program and wound care center.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Tech who excels in this role performs patient care activities in accordance with applicable scopes and standards of practice. They support nursing staff and contribute to a safe, comfortable, and compassionate patient experience. This includes but is not limited to:

• Providing direct patient care including bathing, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Assisting nursing staff with vital signs, specimen collection, and routine observations and report changes in patient condition promptly.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Supporting patient mobility and safety using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Documenting care provided in accordance with department standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days of hire
• Handle with Care (HWC) required within 45 days of hire
• CNA certification preferred
