Traditions Behavioral Health is seeking a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) to deliver recovery-oriented behavioral health services across clinic, home, and community settings in Northern California.

The LPHA will conduct interviews, perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide psychotherapy to diverse age groups, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and compliant documentation.

Seeking a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) to provide compassionate, recovery-oriented behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative behavioral health team providing assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, care coordination, and community-based mental health services to individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

Position Highlights

Location: Northern CA

Employment: Full-Time, W-2

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Work Setting: In-person

Compensation: Up to $93,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience

Additional compensation: Productivity incentives and bilingual Spanish premium available

This county facility provides recovery-oriented behavioral health care to Medi-Cal recipients, including Specialty Mental Health Services and Substance Use Disorder Services.

The department serves individuals of all ages experiencing moderate to severe mental illness, as well as children experiencing significant emotional disturbance.

The organization's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in the area experiencing mental illness or substance use disorders through accessible, recovery-oriented behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities

As an LPHA, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services in clinic, home, and community settings. Responsibilities may include:

• Conduct behavioral health interviews and clinical assessments with individuals, families, and groups.
• Evaluate individuals requesting outpatient mental health services and prioritize service needs using established triage criteria.
• Complete initial assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing clinical evaluations.
• Develop individualized, client-centered treatment and service plans.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy to children and/or adults, based on qualifications and program needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and respond appropriately to individuals experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health crises.
• Assist clients in understanding behavioral health concerns and developing appropriate treatment goals.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, social workers, community providers, and other professionals.
• Connect clients and families with appropriate community resources and support services.
• Monitor clients receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
• Participate in discharge planning, referrals, and continuity-of-care services.
• Work collaboratively with families and support systems to promote treatment participation and positive outcomes.
• Coordinate with designated psychiatric facilities regarding 5150-related admissions and requirements, as applicable.
• Participate in services related to Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) conservatorship and coordinate with County Counsel and the Public Guardian, as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical and administrative documentation.
• Prepare treatment recommendations, reports, and other required clinical documentation.
• Serve as a clinical liaison with community organizations and partner agencies.
• Consult with other behavioral health professionals regarding diagnosis, treatment planning, and client care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborative treatment planning.
• Provide consultation, training, and education to department personnel and community partners as appropriate.
• Provide guidance and training to paraprofessional staff when assigned.
• Maintain compliance with applicable professional standards, ethical requirements, and county behavioral health policies.
• Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have knowledge of:

• Behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Counseling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management principles.
• Mental health and substance use disorders and their biological, behavioral, psychological, and environmental factors.
• Psychotropic medications and the role of medication management within a multidisciplinary behavioral health setting.
• Community behavioral health programs and available public and private resources.
• Laws, regulations, and requirements applicable to county behavioral health services, including Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) and related behavioral health regulations.
• Required Skills and Abilities
