Job description

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) acts as a representative of treatment staff and observes all patient activity, maintains a visible presence on the clients at the treatment center, community housing, and at outside activities. The BHT will also circulate throughout the treatment center and community housing facility, andalert to fire and safety hazards. The BHT is responsible for driving the company vehicle to ensure clients arrive safely and on time each day for scheduled actives.

Duties:

• 1. Developing a daily structure for residential/structured living clients.
• 2. Developing a weekly structure for the residential/structured living clients.
• 3. Overseeing residential/structured living clients.
• 4. Performing Intake procedures for new admissions (complete intake packet).
• 5. Transporting clients to and from appointments and meetings, when necessary.
• 6. Utilizing the company van for transportation of clients.
• 7. Instructing and confirming the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions.
• 8. Evaluating quality of program on an ongoing basis.
• 9. Facilitating communication with ancillary services.
• 10. Attending clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information.
• 11. Building positive relationships with staff
• 12. Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
• 13. Following Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
• 14. Reporting personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Designee.
• 15. Completing and forwarding copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Executive Director.
• 16. Providing a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients.
• 17. Providing and observing self-administration medication to clients
• 18. Conducting Waived Tests when there is suspicion of drug use
• 19. Providing a daily report on the hourly rounds made that shift, to the Structured Living Manager.
• 20. Facilitating client’s rules and responsibilities and reporting noncompliance to Structured Living Manager
