Job summary

The Bridge Behavioral Health in Lincoln, NE is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians (PRN) to support adults in recovery. Starting pay is $18.45 per hour, with a $1.50 per hour shift differential for evenings and nights.

The role emphasizes safety, compassion, and teamwork within a residential treatment setting. Ideal candidates have CPR, a valid driver’s license, and Medication Aide certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Hold CPR certification or obtain upon hire.
• Obtain Medication Aide certification within 90 days of hire.
• Two years of coursework/experience/lived recovery in related fields or scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to clients in residential treatment.
• Build therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Monitor client safety through rounds and observations.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and orientations.
• Respond to crisis using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.
• Facilitate recovery-focused groups and life skills activities.
• Assist with transportation, appointments, and community resources.
• Complete accurate electronic documentation and communicate with treatment team.
• Collaborate with counselors, nurses, case managers and leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.

Starting Pay: $18.45 per hour

Shift Differential: Additional $1.50/hour for all hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Current Openings

We are currently hiring for:

• PRN BHTs: We are especially looking for PRN staff who are available to work weekends.
  • PRN employees must work a minimum of 16 hours per month to maintain active PRN status.

What You’ll Do

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients can focus on recovery.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct support and supervision to clients in residential treatment.
• Building positive, therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Monitoring client safety through rounds, room checks, and observations.
• Assisting with client admissions, discharges, and orientations.
• Responding to crisis situations using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.

• Assisting clients with transportation, appointments, and community resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Hold a current CPR certification or obtain certification upon hire.
• Obtain Medication Aide certification within 90 days of hire.
• Have one of the following:
  • Two years of coursework in a human services-related field;
  • Two years of experience or training in behavioral health, healthcare, human services, or a related field; or
  • Two years of lived recovery experience with demonstrated skills supporting individuals in recovery.
• Successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Behavioral health or healthcare experience is preferred, but we encourage compassionate, dependable individuals with a passion for helping others to apply.
