Job summary

Health Partners of Western Ohio is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our patient-centered care team at the North Lima Community Health Center. You will support providers by educating patients, performing assessments, and guiding individuals toward wellness in a community-focused setting.

We offer a starting hourly rate of $18 with progression based on experience, along with PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, holidays, a 403b retirement plan with up to 8% match, and

• Assist in health care setting in all aspects of program implementation including coordination and information collection.
• Collect detailed data and enters in project database.
• Completes mental health and developmental screenings and enters into EHR.
• Provides administrative support to programs including entering screenings into EHR and other duties as assigned by program leadership.
• Communicates professionally, appropriately, and clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the needs of underserved populations and abides by privacy and security standards.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school diploma or GED certificate, required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Assist in health care setting in all aspects of program implementation including coordination and information collection.
• Collects detailed data and enters in project database.
• Completes mental health and developmental screenings and enters into EHR.
• Comprehensive understanding of substance uses screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment.
• Provides administrative support to programs including entering screenings into EHR and other duties as assigned by program leadership.
• Communicates professionally, appropriately, and clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Communicates and reports accurately and in a timely manner, meeting designated deadlines.
• Participates in training as it relates to program.
• Participates in regular meetings with team.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the needs of the underserved and vulnerable populations and abides by privacy and security standards.
• Respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings.
• Performs other related duties as they are assigned.
• Awareness of social determinants of health and the impact they have in physical and mental health.
• Motivated to remain informed in local resources and keep resource references up to date for colleagues and patients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols and utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required.
