Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks an experienced Behavioral Health Specialist / Social Worker / Crisis Clinician to join our integrated behavioral health team in the Emergency Department.

The master’s-level clinician will conduct crisis and biopsychosocial assessments, provide behavioral interventions, and collaborate with the care team to plan admission through discharge.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or a related field (e.g., Social Work; Marriage and Family Therapy; Psychology; Mental Health Clinician).
• Licensure: Level I – LSW or LCSW preferred; Level II – LICSW/LMHC/LMFT or LCSW with 5+ years crisis experience required.
• Two years of clinical experience with at-risk populations; culturally competent interpersonal & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis assessments and biopsychosocial assessments.
• Provide behavioral interventions and individual/family consultations; assess and coordinate care from admission to discharge.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up with external agencies and service providers; participate in multidisciplinary teams.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Mercy Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Specialist / Social Worker / Crisis Clinician to come join our team of highly specialized integrated behavioral health professionals. The Behavioral Health Specialist / Shift Coordinator is a master's level professional who provides behavioral health consults, assessments, individual treatment, family consultations, care coordination, referrals, and participates in multidisciplinary teams primarily within the Emergency Room.

What will you do: Conducts crisis assessments, biopsychosocial assessments, behavioral interventions. Builds caring relationships with target population to promote positive health and social service outcomes. Improves access to health and human services for target population through in-person interactions, telephone contacts, and coordination of referrals. collaborate with team members to determine care plans from admission to discharge, with family and service providers. collaborate with external agencies or facilities to coordinate referrals to care and will direct any appropriate follow-up. .

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in a social work field including, Social Work; Marriage and Family Therapy; Psychology; and/or Mental Health Clinician.
• Licensure: Level I – Licensed at a LSW or LCSW level or with the capability to be licensed preferred. Level II - Licensure at a LICSW, LMHC or LMFT level required or LCSW with at least five (5) years of crisis assessments experience.
• Experience: Requires two years of clinical experience working with at risk populations. Requires the ability to communicate with target population. Requires culturally Competent Interpersonal & Communication Skills. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the local community.
