Job summary

Granite Hills Hospital in West Allis, WI is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our treatment team. This full- or part-time role includes day (7am–7pm) or night (7pm–7am) shifts with weekend work and shift differentials.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; CNA preferred; Associates or Bachelor’s in a related field preferred
  • College student pursuing a degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services preferred; Nursing students strongly preferred
  • 1+ year experience preferred; inpatient psychiatric hospital experience and crisis intervention techniques are a plus
  • Experience conducting group therapy, vital signs, and documenting progress notes in a clinical setting

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
  • Assist with patient groups and activities
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs

Granite Hills Hospital is a 120-bed behavioral health facility care facility located in West Allis, WI. We are dedicated to offering high-quality, patient centered behavioral healthcare for the greater Milwaukee community. Our new 120-bed facility features evidence-based treatment for adolescents, adults, and older adults.

The Behavioral Health Specialist is a vital part of Granite Hills Hospital’s treatment team. This is a full time or part time position with an opportunity to work on the day (7am - 7pm) or night (7pm - 7am) shift. Our full time and part time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; CNA preferred; Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • College student who has obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred. Nursing Students Strongly preferred
  • One (1) or more year(s) of experience preferred - Preferable experience includes:
    • Experience working within an inpatient psychiatric hospital with children, adolescents and/or adults.
    • Experience with utilizing crisis intervention verbal and physical techniques
    • Experience conducting group therapy sessions, performing vital signs and documenting nursing progress notes.
