Job summary

Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, Texas, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night float position. You will oversee nursing care, supervise LPNs/CNAs, and develop patient care plans while ensuring safety and compliance with psychiatric care standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs and develops nursing care plans.
• Assesses patient status and communicates findings to providers.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
• Administers medications using two patient identifiers and monitors effects.
• Documents care and hand-off reports thoroughly at shift change.
