Job summary

You will assess patient needs, develop care plans, document care, educate families, and ensure nursing care aligns with state regulations and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; prior psychiatric/mental/behavioral or substance use nursing experience is a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed appropriately.
• Assess patient status continuously and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status (detox issues, medical emergencies, etc.).
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Demonstrate therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities and communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
