Longleaf Hospital at Acadia Healthcare in Alexandria, LA is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for day and night shifts in behavioral health. The role emphasizes compassionate care, patient advocacy, and continuous learning within a premier psychiatric setting.

You will assess, plan, implement, and document care, educate families, and ensure adherence to nursing standards. Requires RN license, CPR, and at least one year of nursing experience, preferably psychiatric, with flexible night hours.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; prior psychiatric/behavioral experience is a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available on hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsabilités

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Adhere to nursing practice standards per state regulations and facility policies.
• Transcribe physicians’ orders accurately and monitor patient status.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in patient status and changes in detox or medical status.
• Complete admission and discharge documentation accurately.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries with patients.
