Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care in behavioral health units. You will educate patients, monitor conditions, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

RNs perform basic duties including treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Record patients’ histories, assist with diagnostic tests, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and support follow-up and rehabilitation.
Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy.
Engage in seclusion and restraint procedures when necessary and coordinate with the crisis intervention team.
