Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing prescriptions and clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist at our Chicago location.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm CST. The position emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state requirements in a mental health and specialty pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Illinois.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Retail Pharmacy Technician experience (preferred).
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic staff.
• Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist.
• Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders.
• Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department.
