Job summary

Qualifications

• Current New York State Pharmacist License.
• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Preferred: One year of postgraduate pharmacy practice experience or NYP internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders, including psychotropic medications and controlled substances, for safety, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness.
• Monitor medication therapy for effectiveness, drug interactions, adverse effects, contraindications, and dosing concerns.
• Prepare and dispense medications, including controlled substances.
• Collaborate with the behavioral health team to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes on rounds.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on medication use, adherence, and safety.
