Job summary

Discovery Mood in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an LVN/LPN to provide compassionate nursing care within our behavioral health programs. You will support medication administration, monitor patient status, and collaborate with RNs and physicians to ensure safe, effective care for individuals with addiction and eating disorders.

The role emphasizes documentation, adherence to policies, and ongoing professional development, with on-site duties and a Saturday night shift.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved nursing program with a current licensure from an appropriate state licensing board in good standing.
• Preferred: Experience as a staff nurse in chemical dependency and/or behavioral health.
• Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity.
• One year experience preferred in mental health, substance use, or eating disorders field.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certification and CPI within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a diverse behavioral health population in a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document responses in MAR and EMR.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, psychiatrists, and team members to support coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Monitor patient status, report changes, and participate in required trainings and competencies.
