Safe House Wellness & Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Intern to gain hands-on experience in outpatient mental health services, working with licensed clinicians and care teams in Tempe, AZ. The role involves observing client interactions, supporting documentation, and participating in treatment planning and team meetings.

Interns will gain exposure to case management, counseling, and healthcare operations, with potential academic credit and a letter of recommendation based on performance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Nursing, or related degree program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional demeanor and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist licensed clinicians during client interactions.
• Support case management and care coordination.
• Assist with intake paperwork and client documentation.
• Help maintain accurate electronic health records.
• Participate in treatment team meetings.
• Assist with wellness groups and educational workshops.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.
• Complete special projects assigned by supervisors.
