Cone Health is seeking a Psychiatric Physician to provide exceptional patient care across various clinical settings within its facilities. Responsibilities include independent patient diagnosis and treatment, mentoring of residents and students, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates will possess board certification in Psychiatry, a valid North Carolina Medical License, and a commitment to evidence-based practices.
Overview: The Psychiatric Physician at Cone Health can practice in various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, hybrid, full-time, part-time, and relief roles, across multiple facilities within the Cone Health system. These facilities include, but are not limited to, Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center, and outpatient locations in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville, and Burlington. The Cone Health Psychiatrist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and fulfilling all clinical duties.
Responsibilities: Provides multidisciplinary team coordination in assigned areas. Mentors Cone Health psychiatry residents and students as needed. Exercises independent judgment in diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and guiding the interdisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers, to achieve patient care goals. Upholds professional standards in accordance with MCHS policies, including Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, and professional image. Participates in medical audits, quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and investigations related to professional care standards. Engages in continuous improvement and evidence-based practices aiming for top-tier healthcare outcomes (above the 90th percentile). Maintains records per MCHS policies and legal requirements. Contributes to developing clinical guidelines, procedures, and programs to enhance care quality and efficiency. Shares on-call responsibilities with other physicians in the assigned areas. Provides educational conferences for residents, faculty, students, and teams, including Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Noon Conferences, Medical Student Lectures, Clinical Improvement Conferences, and Board Review sessions. Mentors medical students, APP students, and residents, and provides clinical supervision during rotations.
Qualifications: Board certification in Psychiatry (Fellowship training for child-adolescent preferred). North Carolina Medical License. North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
