Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, GA is seeking a Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) to join our outpatient psychiatry team. You will perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, develop treatment plans, and manage medications for adults, in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

This full-time role features no nights or weekends, schedule 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 36 patient contact hours weekly, CME allowance, and eligibility for performance bonuses.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Georgia license or eligibility for licensure as NP or PA.
  • Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • PMHNP-BC board certification for PMHNP track.
  • NCCPA certification for PA track.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications per evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document encounters and plans in the EMR; ensure accurate records.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, social workers and others.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications and resources.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality initiatives and program development.

Atrium Health Floyd, a part of Advocate Health, is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Psychiatry to join our growing outpatient Behavioral Health practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered psychiatric care while working alongside a collaborative team of psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the mental health and well‑being of the communities we serve.

The selected provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and other mood and thought disorders. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, patient education, and ongoing care coordination in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric care in an outpatient setting. The provider will perform psychiatric evaluations, establish diagnoses, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and available community resources
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality initiatives, and program development activities
  • Advocate for patients and support access to behavioral health services throughout the community
