Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS) is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health (LCSW or LPCMH) to oversee behavioral health services at the South Mississippi Correctional Institute in Leakesville, MS. The role focuses on developing and implementing evidence-based interventions within a correctional setting, supervising BH staff, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a graduate-level degree in a related field and independent licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have a graduate level degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, or related field.
• Must be independently licensed (i.e., LCSW, LPC, Licensed Psychologist).
• Supervisory and correctional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement evidence-based behavioral health interventions within a correctional facility.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision of the behavioral health delivery system per ACA and NCCHC standards.
• Collaborate with Regional Behavioral Health Director and site leadership to fulfill contractual services.
• Provide individual- and group-level mental health services, treatment planning, and crisis management for incarcerated individuals.
