Job summary

Service Core inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to facilitate individual and group sessions for residents requiring mental health and substance use disorder counseling.

Administrative duties include completing program paperwork per agency record-keeping requirements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or related field and Ohio LPC/LISW licensure, with prior experience in mental health and substance abuse services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or related field is required.
• Independent licensure with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board as a LPC-C or LISW is required.
• Prior experience in mental health and substance abuse services.

Responsibilities

• Submits monthly reports and plans of action on any deficits noted.
• Meets weekly with case managers to review resident progress and/or problems and provides guidance.
• Attends treatment team meetings as needed to discuss resident progress and concerns.
• Meets as needed with case managers to review assigned resident progress and/or problems.
• Meets with Clinical Director weekly in regards to required clinical supervision.
• Provides individual and group counseling services when clinically indicated.
• Provides as-needed diagnostic assessments of adults as appropriate.
• Provides crisis intervention services as needed and clinically indicated.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in counseling, social work or other related field

L.P.C.C. or L.I.S.W. licensure in Ohio

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds.
