Job Description - Behavioral Health Coordinator, Non-Licensed (260007OI)

A Brief Overview

Assist patients through the initial intake process by obtaining clinical information. - Obtain and update demographic information. Ensure accuracy of patient information and management of multiple spreadsheets. Manage information through current Resource Program. Determine benefit eligibility to Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuropsychology services.

What You Will Do
  • The behavioral health coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating the behavioral, mental, and physical health care of patients on an assigned patient caseload with the patient's medical provider and, when appropriate, other internal and community behavior and/or mental health providers.
  • The behavior health coordinator will offer parenting guidance/education for pediatric patients. Possess a working knowledge of clinical requirements for all faculty members to ensure accurate clinical referrals. - Ability to manage Referral Information. - Assist patients with insurance questions and review financial/billing related issues that are presented. - Responsible for fostering relationships within UHCMC for recruitment/referral purposes. - Correspondence/telephone calls to be handled in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Edit and update Orders through Order Worklist - Manage referrals from AMA, FMH, and other programs utilized by University Hospitals - Collaborate and work with PCP, Pediatricians, and Psychiatry physicians to assist patients/families with scheduling or referrals
  • The behavior health coordinator will offer parenting guidance/education for pediatric patients. What You Will Do - Support the behavioral, mental and physical health care of patients on an assigned patient caseload. Closely coordinate care with the patient’s medical provider and, when appropriate, other behavioral/mental health providers, schools, and community agencies. -
  • Screen and assess patients for common behavioral, mental health and substance use disorders. Facilitate patient/ caregiver engagement and follow-up care. - Provide caregiver and patient education about common behavioral, mental health and substance use disorders and the available treatment options. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Misc duties associated with new patient care
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Supports Medical Review Officer process and function
  • Effectively promote and market wellness platform with UH Population Health partners
  • Monitor and assure accuracy of the client company profiles related to drug and alcohol testing procedures

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
