Job summary

Florida State University in Tallahassee invites applications for Health Promotionists/Behavioral Health Coaches (OPS) to support the NIH-funded SMARTer Weight Loss Management Study within the College of Medicine. You will provide individualized behavioral counseling and health coaching, document sessions, participate in team meetings, and contribute to research reports and presentations.

A relevant degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred, and strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, public health, health promotion, behavioral science, clinical research, or a closely related field.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
• Experience with health coaching, Motivational Interviewing, or related behavioral interventions (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized behavioral counseling and health coaching to study participants using evidence-based strategies.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing and other counseling techniques to support behavior change and health goals.
• Document participant contacts, intervention delivery, and relevant information accurately and promptly.
• Participate in training, supervision, team meetings, and treatment fidelity assessments.
• Collaborate with research staff to support recruitment, engagement, retention, and study operations.
• Contribute to research reports, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and dissemination activities.
• Contribute to qualitative data collection and analysis, including coding and thematic analysis.
