Job summary

Easterseals Blake Foundation in Arizona is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician or Behavioral Health Professional to coordinate comprehensive behavioral health services for adult and child members enrolled with public behavioral health programs.

You will conduct intakes and assessments, develop and monitor service plans, and coordinate with other providers, while upholding agency standards and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong clinical knowledge across the lifespan and trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with managed care systems and AHCCCS/Title XIX processes.
  • Ability to diagnose using DSM-5-TR and coordinate care with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess behavioral health needs and eligibility; develop and monitor service plans.
  • Provide intakes, assessments, and therapy/support services; schedule referrals.
  • Coordinate with providers and agencies to ensure coordinated care and transport arrangements.
  • Document and report services per agency and funding requirements.
  • Maintain productivity, timelines, and professional conduct as per policy.

General Position Description:

Responsible for comprehensive coordination of behavioral health services for adult and child members eligible for enrollment with public behavioral health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assesses the member’s behavioral health needs and eligibility for services. Assists staff in developing and monitoring member service plans.
  • Provides comprehensive intakes, assessments, annual assessments, and offers therapeutic and support services. Screens, evaluates, and schedules referred members who may need behavioral health services.
  • Coordinates communication between the member and other providers or community agencies to ensure coordination of care. This includes assisting with scheduling appointments, attending telemed appointments, arranging transportation, conducting CFTs and ARTS, and coordinating with the hospital for d/c appointments.
  • Provides rehabilitation services that include living skills training, counseling, and supported employment services to enrolled members.
  • Provides support services like case management, personal assistance, family support, peer support, respite care, and transportation services to enrolled members.
  • Conduct Rapid Response and/or Intakes based on the needs of the assigned work location.
  • Performs crisis intervention and solution-focused interventions.
  • Maintains EBF productivity, timelines, and quality standards set forth by EBF.
  • Provides complete documentation and reporting of member behavioral health services in accordance with agency and funding requirements. Maintains member records in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED with 1 years of behavioral health or related work/volunteer experience or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health required. The education and experience level will determine the position level of Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Behavioral Health Professional (BHP). Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Regulatory
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3) years. Three (3) years of driving experience required.
  • Transportation for daily visits, to attend trainings, and perform other work-related activities. Organizational vehicles may not be available at all times.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check prior to employment and regular checks for the duration of the employment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
  • Satisfactorily Completed Competency Checklist within 3 months of hire.
Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities:

Must have a strong clinical knowledge of development across the life span and knowledge of best practices when working with diverse populations with trauma backgrounds. Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and ADHS policies and practices. Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all that reach out to the Department.
