Relief Mental Health was founded in February of 2020. Within these 6 years, we have expanded to 12 new offices across Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and now Colorado! We aim to create a new standard for mental health care, offering a continuum of innovative therapeutic interventions and responding to evolving patient needs.

Job Overview:

Clinical Assistants are a critical part of delivering exceptional patient care and serve as a key support system for both patients and providers. Their in-office presence is essential to ensuring smooth clinic operations, positive patient experiences, and the successful delivery of care across all modalities.

This role works alongside our providers to support patient care and clinic workflow, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato, Medication Management, and IV Ketamine. Clinical Assistants are responsible for assisting with both clinical and administrative duties, helping to create a streamlined, efficient, and patient-centered experience from intake through ongoing treatment.

Successful Clinical Assistants are team-oriented, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while supporting the overall success of the clinic.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a high level of professionalism, empathy, and compassionate support and assistance to all of our patients, their families, and colleagues
  • Greet and assist visitors and patients as they arrive at the office
  • Review all patient paperwork for completion and accuracy
  • Provide and score assessments to patients, including effectively administering a C-SSRS assessment as needed
  • Serve as the main point of contact for patients, including answering phone calls, voicemails and emails from patients
  • Complete daily clinical tasks, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, entering patient demographics and data into the EHR system, billing, notes, and patient medical record maintenance, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of office, as well as preparation and upkeep of the examination/treatment rooms
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Assist providers with performing point of care testing (urine drug screens and pregnancy tests), collecting vital signs, and other patient care
  • Assist providers with pharmacy calls regarding prescription questions and issues
  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications
  • Assist with other administrative tasks, such as printing, faxing, and shredding documents, ordering and properly documenting inventory, etc.
  • Follow all company protocols and procedures to ensure consistency in care across all clinics, maximize efficiency and meet required deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA
  • Assist with other various tasks as delegated by the Provider(s), Clinic Manager, or Regional Director of Operations
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours that include regular evenings (occasional weekends) and are based on weekly patient schedules and needs -CA's are expected to be in the office for all shifts
Required Skills:

Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to relay information regarding health insurance coverage and out of pocket costs to patients
  • Experience treating patients with TMS and Spravato
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience
  • Previous healthcare experience highly preferred, mental health setting a plus
  • Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system
  • Valid CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain during training period
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 20 lbs - moving or assisting patients and other equipment may be required
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during shift
