Job summary

Tampa Behavioral Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Assessment Coordinator for a PRN, as-needed schedule in the Tampa area. You will assess walk-in and phone callers, schedule initial psychiatric assessments for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or emotional disorders, and coordinate admissions with the Care Coordination team.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries about treatment options, documentation, and referrals to other sources as needed, plus clerical support and EMR

Qualifications

• Experience in psychiatric health-care facilities preferred; strong clinical assessment skills required.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to assess walk-in and phone callers and schedule initial assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assess walk-in and phone callers to determine services or referrals and schedule initial psychiatric assessments.
• Answer inquiry calls about treatment and facility services, present options, document calls, and set appointments.
• Collaborate with business office to ensure efficient admissions and triage to other sources when appropriate.
• Provide clerical support, data entry into the electronic record system, and maintain forms and supplies.
• Schedule assessments, orient patients to units, assist with discharges, and send documentation to referral sources.
