Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a nationwide network. We are seeking an Activities Therapist to contribute to patient care within a behavioral health setting.

The role emphasizes developing treatment programs, documenting progress, and delivering therapy aligned with physician orders in a full-time capacity. Eligible candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, or Art Therapy, and current Ohio licensure as CTRS/MT-BC/ATR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, or Art Therapy is required.
• Current Ohio license as CTRS, MT-BC, or ATR/ATR-BC/ATR-P is required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Apply theory and standards for therapeutic practices in patient care.
• Assess patient needs considering culture, religion, and disabilities for activity suitability.
• Document responses to interventions in daily/weekly progress notes.
• Develop initial and subsequent treatment programs per physician orders.
• Create a care plan with measurable goals and specific interventions for each patient.
• Deliver therapy procedures according to plan and work with patients to maximize benefit.
