HumanePro is seeking a Behavior and Training Manager to oversee animal intake, behavior, enrichment, training, and assessments with support from the coordinator. The role ensures daily operations align with organizational policies and reinforces procedures for safety and effectiveness.

The role involves positive reinforcement techniques, staff instruction, and development of curricula and training aids to improve program outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Oversee all animal intake, behavior, enrichment, training, and assessment programs with support from the Behavior & Training Coordinator and supervise the coordinator.
• Ensure daily behavior and training operations align with policies, protocols, and best practices, and enforce/update procedures for safety and program effectiveness.
• Use positive reinforcement, develop training techniques, and manage canine playgroups.
• Conduct intake behavior testing, evaluate behavior methods and equipment, and instruct staff and volunteers on proper handling and training techniques.
• Develop curricula and design training aids to support the program.

The Behavior and Training Manager oversees all animal intake, behavior, enrichment, training, and assessment programs with support from the Behavior & Training Coordinator and provides direct supervision and leadership to the coordinator. The Behavior & Training Manager ensures proper population management by following intake criteria and policies to partner with local organizations to source animals.

This role ensures daily behavior and training operations are implemented in alignment with organizational policies, protocols, and best practices, and is responsible for enforcing, developing, and updating behavior and training procedures to ensure safety, consistency, and program effectiveness.

Work includes using positive reinforcement; developing training techniques; managing canine playgroups; conducting intake behavior testing; evaluating behavior methods and equipment; instructing staff and volunteers on proper handling and training techniques; developing curricula; and designing training aids.
