Job description

The Behavior Interventionist will deliver clinical behavior reduction programs and instruction based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to clients of Diversity Bx, LLC in the home, community, center, and school settings. The role requires collecting data, reporting concerns, and performing administrative duties.

Role Overview

The Behavior Interventionist is responsible for complying with duties and responsibilities of the position, as well as tasks assigned by Diversify Bx.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Under the supervision of the clinical supervisor and/or program supervisor, provide direct ABA services in 1:1 and group settings utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Implement the skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals prescribed by the overseeing clinical supervisor.
  • Collect data on skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals every session.
  • Maintain client data in the home by updating program data sheets within the required timeframe on the online data collection platform.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the overseeing clinical supervisor.
  • Utilize safe and appropriate behavior modification strategies when working with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality based on HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Maintain and acquire ABA knowledge and skills by attending assigned staff trainings or meetings.
  • Achieve position competencies in relation to role responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship
  • The Behavior Interventionist reports directly to the Clinical Supervision Team.
Education and Professional Certifications
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • CPR or BLS Certification (preferred)
  • Registered Behavior Technician Credential (preferred)
  • NPI Number (required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to multi‑task.
  • Maintain a professional appearance based on the company dress code policy.
  • Proficient in the use of technology (computer, smartphone, tablet).
  • Ability to implement clinical protocols.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development in Applied Behavior Analysis to support job competency.
Basic and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location.
  • Must have reliable phone access with internet capability.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within 25 miles of your home address.
  • California Driver’s License is preferred; if not, must guarantee commute to client locations using a HIPAA approved method of transportation.
  • Insurance in good standing, with employee listed as a covered driver.
