Job summary

Brevard Public Schools in Viera, FL is seeking a BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN I to assist a behavior analyst with data collection and the implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIP). This 9-month, 8-hour daily position starts at grade 18 or 19, with starting salaries based on classification and pay plan.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and either 60 semester hours with core courses or a ParaPro score of 464+.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 semester hours from an accredited institution with 30 in core/general ed and/or child development or ParaPro score 464+.
• One year experience working with children (preferred).
• For BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN II: AA/AS or higher degree, one year with children, experience with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the behavior analyst in data collection.
• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIP).

SCOPE: To assist the behavior analyst in the performance of his/her duties such as data collection and the implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIP). BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN I (GRADE 18): EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the ParaPro Test with a score of 464 or higher. PREFERRED/DESIRED:
• One (1) year experience in working with children. BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN II (GRADE 19): EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED:
• Associate of Arts or Science or higher degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• One (1) year working with children.
• Experience with persons with disabilities.
