Job summary

BY YOUR SIDE is hiring a Behavior Technician to deliver ABA therapy to children and young adults with autism in center, home, and community settings. You will implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans under supervision, collect data, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel between environments. Training in RBT, safety, CPR is provided; compensation starts at $22 per hour with benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or enrolled in psychology, communication disorders, education or related field preferred.
• Willingness to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Direct ABA therapy to children and young adults with autism in center, home, and community settings.
• Implement treatment plans and collect data on target behaviors.
• Maintain targeted caseload hours and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
• Travel to client homes and community environments as required.
• Provide session coverage and participate in staff training and team meetings.
• Ensure accurate records and billing for appointments on online platforms.

General Summary

The BY YOUR SIDE Behavior Technician directs ABA Therapy to children ages 2 21 years oldin the center and in home environments The Behavior Technician will implement skill acquisition programs and behavior management protocols underthe supervision ofthe Clinical Supervisor The Behavior Technician will also be responsible for collecting data on target behaviors during sessions The Behavior Technician is also responsible for providing comprehensive ABA Therapy for BY YOUR SIDE clients underthe direction of the Clinical Supervisor The Behavior Technician is responsible for defining problems collecting data establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions can read analyze and respond to inquiries or complaints from clients families and effectively presentsinformation to the BCBAs This positions hours of work and days vary based on the needs of clientsbusiness Evening weekend workandor overtime may be required as needed Implementation of treatment plans across multiple environments including center home and community Travel may be required Starting pay 22hr

Essential Functions: Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for enforcing standards for ABA Therapy to maintain BY YOUR SIDEs high quality of care for clients and families


• Provide direct 11 or small group therapy to children and young adults with autism consistent with the treatment plan under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor


• Maintain targeted caseload hours of therapy per week


• Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines


• Implement treatment plans across multiple domains including communication social behavior learner readiness skills self care replacement behavior and behavior reduction as instructed by the Clinical Supervisor


• Passionately motivates clients by adapting activities to their preferences


• Calmly respond intentionally and in alignment with the client Behavior Intervention Plan to challenging behavior


• Assist with assessments under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor when they have assured proper training and administration of such assessment tools ie VBMAPP ABLLS


• Assist with maintaining order and safety among the clients in the therapy environment


• Assist other personnel with related tasks as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in completion of their work activities and for the enhancement of daily operations of the therapy center


• Provide session coverage for clients


• One Time Move as needed


• Participate in staff meetings team meetings and collaborate with a team of multi disciplinary therapists to coordinate communicate relevant information and implement high quality therapy


• Participate in training provided to increase professional knowledge by attending in person through video conferencing andor watching the recorded trainings


• Completion of all assignments related to staff meetings and training eg ABA meetings by due date including make up assignments


• Completion of daily activitiesroutines within the center ie openingclosing procedures cleaning organization and creation of session materials assisting other therapists etc


• Collect and maintain accurate records of client performance through data collection and insurance notes on an online data collection platform


• Ensure billing for all appointments through online platform session conversion within a specified period


• Implementation of treatment plans across multiple environments including centers homes and communities


• Travel to the home and community may be required


• Toilet training and diaper changing may be required


• To perform thisjob successfully an individualmust be able to performeach essential duty satisfactorily


• Uphold and maintain BYS core principles policies and procedures


• Include demonstrated competencies and physical mental & interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent


• Bachelors degree andor enrolled in psychology communication disorders education or relatedfield preferred


• High interest and willingness to learn about understand and work with children diagnosed withAutism Spectrum Disorder


• Eagerness to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis and grow as a Behavior Technician


• Ability to maintain quality safety and infection control standards


• Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies preferred


• Ability to communicate proactively timely effectively and professionally with a variety of stakeholder types clientsfamilies and parents Operations Team members Behavior Analysts Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists


• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with changing priorities and deadlines


• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi task prioritize execute on deadlines and produce high quality deliverables with attention to details

• Proficiency in applications games and web based technology via an iPad and Microsoft Office Products Word Excel and Outlook

• Reliable transportation is required for travel to and from work and between therapy environments


• May regularly lift pull push and or move 10 25 pounds and may frequently lift pull push and or move up to 50 pounds


• Physical ability to move quickly kneel bend squat crouch twist walk sit stand and reach for prolonged periods of time


• Must be able to respond quickly which may include transitioning from a seated position to standing in case of client elopement or emergency


• Must be able to assess and navigate factors that may impact safety and security

This position requires prolonged periods of computer use and extended screen time throughout the workday While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and perform in an environment with elevated noise levels.
