Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Center Based Behavior Technician in Islandia, NY. The role supports ABA therapy for children, collecting data and implementing plans under supervision.

Training to obtain BACB credential is provided within 90 days, with a focus on safety and confidentiality. Full-time benefits include PTO, holidays, health insurance, 401(k), flexible spending, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months ABA working with children or adolescents in a supervised setting.
• Exposure to managing challenging behaviors is preferred.
• Must be able to work safely with individuals who display challenging behaviors (aggression, self-injury, property destruction, elopement).
• Enrollment or completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with Clinical Supervisors and BCBAs to implement ABA procedures.
• Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions.
• Obtain and maintain RBT credential within 90 days.
• Use electronic data collection and graphing platforms.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans as directed.
• Maintain safety and confidentiality for children and families.

Details about this opportunity:

• Location: Islandia, NY
• Center-Based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist/Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
• Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm
• Compensation: $21-$24.75/hourly
• Services: Provide IEP Mandated Services at our Centers (NOT INSURANCE BASED)
• Please note this is a range. Rates are determined by professional experience, education, skillset, and certifications held.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum of 6 months ABA working with children or adolescents with Autism in a supervised setting.
• Experience with working with challenging behaviors preferred
• Enrollment or completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, or related field a plus.
• Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind.
• Must be able to work safely and directly with individuals who engage in varying magnitudes of challenging behaviors including but not limited to aggression, self-injury, property destruction, and elopement.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.
• The ability to climb and descend staircases.
• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting,crawling, sitting (on floor), standing) for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to utilize quick body movements and PMT techniques as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan while working with learners that exhibit challenging behaviors.
• Bilingual is a plus.
