Step Ahead ABA offers in-home, school, and community ABA therapy opportunities across multiple states. The 40-hour RBT training is provided at no cost, with pay starting at $23/hour once certified and placed.

You can build a caseload around your availability and advance through the RBT leveling system. We hire without BACB certification and provide a clear growth path, including placement into cases with hourly rates up to $30/hour in certain states.

Step Ahead ABA provides in-home, school, and community ABA therapy for children and teens on the autism spectrum, across Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia.

Job Description

Step Ahead ABA provides the 40-hour RBT training course free of charge, so you can become a Registered Behavior Technician and be hired onto our team at $23/hour or more. No prior ABA experience and no BACB number are needed to start.

THE STEP AHEAD GROWTH PATHWAY

The 40 hours is the only real hurdle between you and your RBT certification, and we cover it.

• We give you the 40-hour training course at no cost. Work through it at your own pace, around whatever else you have on.
• When you finish, you register with the BACB and sit the exam. Those registration and exam fees are yours; the course is on us.
• Your certification comes through and you are eligible to take clients with us.
• You join our Fast Track Placement pool, and we place from it as cases open — at $23/hour or more.

You are not on our payroll during the course. Pay starts once you are certified and placed.

WHAT YOU EARN ONCE YOU ARE CERTIFIED AND PLACED

Certified RBT pay reaches $23/hour in every state we serve, and $30/hour in Hawaii. The RBT Leveling System raises it further at every level after that. That is the reason the training is worth your time.

THE CERTIFIED RBT RATES, BY STATE

We publish the non-billable rate as well as the billable one, because that is the number people get surprised by elsewhere:

• Hawaii: $30/hour billable, $16/hour non-billable
• Indiana: $23/hour billable, $10/hour non-billable
• North Carolina: $23/hour billable, $10/hour non-billable
• Oklahoma: $23/hour billable, $10/hour non-billable
• Virginia: $22-23/hour billable, $10/hour non-billable
• Nebraska: $22-23/hour billable, $16/hour non-billable
• Iowa: $21-23/hour billable, $10/hour non-billable

WHAT FAST TRACK PLACEMENT GETS YOU

Cases do not go public first. When a family is ready for an RBT, our placement team works Fast Track Placement before the case is posted anywhere. Once you are certified and in the pool:

• You hear about a case days before it is advertised
• You get first refusal on cases that match your area and your availability
• You are matched on the schedule you already told us you can work
• When several people could take a case, pool members are contacted first

New cases come in every week across all seven states we serve: Hawaii, Indiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia, Nebraska and Iowa.
