Job summary

ABA Centers of Puerto Rico is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide ABA therapy in homes, schools, and clinics across Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. The role offers paid training, mentorship, and a clear path for advancement towards RBT certification.

Starting pay is $15/hour for BTs and $17/hour for RBTs. Final compensation depends on experience, training, and credentials. We support you through the ABA Academy of Excellence to prep for the RBT exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Availability mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.
• Experience in childcare, education, or related fields (preferred).
• Experience working with children or adolescents (preferred).
• Prior exposure to ABA services (preferred).
• Position-specific: BT—40-hour paid training over 2 weeks, then RBT exam within 45 days.
• RBT—active certification; 1 week paid training plus supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, clinics, or other venues depending on client needs.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
• Track progress and maintain quality; document session data accurately.
• Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
• Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks as needed.

Requirements

Required

Position-Specific Items

• Behavior Technician (BT):Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands-on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT):Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands-on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
• Training availability (BT / RBT):Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
