Job summary

ABA Centers of New Jersey, LLC in Ocean City, NJ seeks a Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics. You will work under BCBA supervision to implement treatment plans, collect data, and support families and learners.

Competitive starting rates: RBT $21.40/hr and BT $19.35/hr with paid training. We offer a clear path for advancement, ABA Academy support, and mentorship to pursue BCBA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of relevant experience (internships or related roles) preferred.
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Support and deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities or clinics.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
• Track progress and maintain data accuracy.
• Collaborate with BCBAs, team members, and families.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
• Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks as needed.

What You'll Do

RBT: Starting rate of $21.40 per hour.

BT: Starting rate of $19.35 per hour.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review
• NJ candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.

Position-Specific

• Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands-on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands-on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
• Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Preferred

• Experience in childcare, education, or related fields
• Experience working with children or adolescents
• Prior exposure to ABA services
