Registered Behavior Technician (RBT in Training)

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $37,440.00 – $52,000.00 per year (hourly pay, not salary). Flat training rate $11.00/hour for initial training.

About the Role

Opal Autism Centers is dedicated to fostering an environment where aspiring professionals can learn and grow in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (imt).

As a Registered Behavior Technician in Training, you will embark on a rewarding journey to become a certified RBT while gaining hands‑on experience in providing essential support to children with autism and their families. This role offers the opportunity to receive mentorship from experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and learn the principles of behavior analysis in a supportive and dynamic workplace. Your contributions will help create meaningful changes in the lives of our clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

Training Schedule & Certification Requirements

All new hires areლი compensated at a flat training rate of $11.00/hour (non‑negotiable) during the training period.

If you hold a valid 40‑hour RBT training certificate of completion (or are within the BACB renewal grace period), your training schedule is:

  • Weeks 1–2: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM
  • Week 3: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM

If you do not hold a valid 40‑hour RBT training certificate of completion or are outside the renewal grace period, you are required to complete the full Opal RBT training program. Your schedule is:

  • Weeks 1–2: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM
  • Weeks 3–4 અસoliday Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM
  • If you are already enrolled in an external RBT training program but have not completed the 40‑hour training and obtained your certificate of completion by your employment start date, you will be enrolled into Opal’s RBTғни program and be required to complete the full training program (no exceptions).
Responsibilities
  • Participate in and complete the 40‑hour RBT training program to develop knowledge and skills in behavior analysis.
  • Shadow and assist RBTs and BCBAs in implementing treatment plans.
  • Collect and record electronic data on client behaviors and progress.
  • Engage clients in therapeutic activities to facilitate their learning andախոս.֎
  • Communicate with families about their child’s daily progress.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to further your understanding of ABA principles.
  • Maintain adherence to ethical guidelines and regulations per BACB guidelines.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with children and individuals with special needs.
  • High school diploma or GED; further education in psychology, special education, or related fields is a plus.
  • Willingness to complete the RBT training program and attain certification.
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification before your employment start date.
  • Ability toIntrestful pass a criminal PASSWORD background check.
  • Commitment to ethical standards in behavior analysis practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally in the field of behavior analysis.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lb and sit/stand/squat throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working fully on‑site in a center‑based setting.
