LEARN Academy, a private K-12 school dedicated to individualized behavioral and educational support, is hiring for roles focused on direct instructional support and ABA-based interventions. The school emphasizes collaboration and ongoing mentorship for candidates with varying levels of experience.

Candidates with a passion for helping children with autism and special needs will find opportunities for training and supervision, including pathways toward BCBA certification or teaching credentials.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Ability to collaborate and accept feedback from peers and supervisors.

• Ability to perform physical work and follow safety procedures as needed.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct instructional support to individual and groups of students and monitor progress.
• Implement treatment plans using ABA techniques.
• Collect data on goals/objectives as directed by licensed staff.
• Assist staff in maintaining charts and records of student progress.
• Reinforce academic behaviors and provide opportunities to practice.
• Assist students in community, school, and leisure activities under licensed staff supervision.
• Implement district-approved de-escalation techniques and CPI training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Certification supervision is available for candidates who are seeking BCBA certification or internships in a teaching credential. Additionally, if you possess a Bachelor's Degree in any field and pass your CBEST test you could also apply at CA Department of Education to become a Substitute Teacher.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct instructional support to individual and/or groups of students and monitor ability to follow directions and behavior.

• Implement treatment plans using ABA techniques.

• Collect data regarding student(s) reaching goals/objectives as directed by licensed staff.

• Assist staff in maintaining charts and other records related to student(s) progress.

• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by licensed staff and provide the student with opportunities to practice.

• Assist student in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities under the direction of licensed staff.

• Implement district approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint, such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

• Perform other related duties as assigned and required by the building administration and licensed staff.

What You Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

• 1-2 years' experience working with children in a special need's education setting preferred but not required.

• Ability to collaborate and receive to feedback, mentoring and direction from peers and supervisors

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a professional and clinical perspective at all times, with the ability to not internalize or personalize (e.g. emotionally)in regard certain studentbehaviors or mannerisms that occur.

• Demonstrated experience using physical ability and dexterity to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees

• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods of time.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk, run, stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach, balance, and move quickly as needed. Must push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs., maintain client safety awareness, respond quickly to changes, and safely manage client movement per ABA guidelines. Requires stamina, sustained concentration, effective communication, and ability to work in loud, high-stimulation environments. Must assist with hygiene and toileting as needed.
