Job description

Job Title: Behavior Technician

We are seeking passionate professionals with experience in psychology, education, social work, ABA, or roles involving children, such as babysitting or nannying. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental challenges in their home environments. Your responsibilities include fostering growth in communication, daily living, and social skills, while addressing behaviors that impact safety and independence—such as hitting, biting, or kicking—by implementing evidence-based techniques.

This is a part-time position for afternoon hours (3-8 pm, Monday through Friday), with flexible scheduling options. Compensation ranges from $20 to $27 per hour, along with paid time off (PTO), sick leave, drive time, and mileage reimbursement. We also offer a performance-based incentive system to reward excellence and provide a clear career growth path.

At Ad Astra, professional development is a priority. We provide access to a comprehensive 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program, which is the first step toward earning your RBT credential through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Completing the certification process will result in a $1 per hour pay increase.

Qualifications include a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with car insurance, professionalism, creativity, strong communication skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Implementing evidence-based interventions to develop communication, social, and adaptive skills, and address behavior excesses such as biting, kicking, and hitting.
  2. Using empathy and understanding to support clients in achieving their goals and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Teaching replacement behaviors that promote safety, independence, and skill acquisition.
  4. Accurately collecting and documenting data to inform individualized treatment plans.
  5. Working closely with families to provide guidance and support in implementing ABA strategies in daily life.

We prioritize supporting our Behavior Technicians by fostering a culture of understanding and guidance. Our mission is to equip our team with the tools needed to provide outstanding care and advance their careers. Together, we aim to make meaningful impacts now and in the future.

Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer, considering all qualified applicants in accordance with applicable laws. Qualifications for this role include strong communication skills, teamwork, and experience with the pediatric population.
